Building on the tremendous success of last year’s edition, The Applaud returns with a renewed focus on promoting culture and showcasing the extraordinary potential of natural stone. At the 58th edition of Marmomac, the iconic Fazzoletto, one of Fulvio Bianconi’s earliest works, will come to life in a dynamic display. The transformation from raw marble to a finished masterpiece will unfold live in Pavilion 10, giving all visitors a chance to witness the process.
Venini, the company originally associated with the Fazzoletto design, will see their original creation evolve into a significant sculpture that blends the strength and grandeur of marble with the elegance and delicacy of the Fazzoletto vase.
The 2024 edition continues to highlight the importance of collaboration, with numerous partners playing a key role in bringing this remarkable work to life. These companies provide essential materials, utilize state-of-the-art robotic production, and support the process with cutting-edge water treatment solutions. This collaboration reflects the shared commitment to innovation, a core value of everyone involved. The installation, curated by Mr. Danilo Di Michele, honors the legacy of Bianconi, a pivotal artist and artistic director, while showcasing the perfect harmony of technique, technology, precision, and beauty at The Plus Theatre.
As visitors observe this process, they gain a deeper appreciation for the collective effort and expertise required to create such an extraordinary piece from natural stone.

The PolyPiù company specialises in designing and manufacturing curtain walls, modular systems, and roofs made of multiwall and compact polycarbonate sheets for industrial, commercial, civil, and DIY applications. For The Applaud project, it supplied the polycarbonate materials that enclose the robot and the work under the live construction: CarboPIÙ Compatto sheets were used – on the other hand the decorative parts above are made of PanelPIÙ 500, an interlocking polycarbonate modular system.
