Both Japanese designers with extensive experience across a wide range of fields—including architecture, interior and spatial design, product design, industrial design and packaging.
Setsu Ito, a graduate of the University of Tsukuba, began his career collaborating with Alchimia / Alessandro Mendini and with the renowned master Angelo Mangiarotti.
Shinobu Ito, who graduated from Tama Art University in Tokyo, started her career at CBS Sony within Sony Creative Products, and later obtained a Master’s degree from Domus Academy in Milan.
They founded their own studio in 1997 and have received numerous international design awards, including the Compasso d’Oro (Italy). They are visiting professors at leading institutions such as the Politecnico di Milano and Raffles Milano (Italy), as well as the University of Tsukuba and Tama Art University (Japan). Both are Fellow Researchers at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) of the University of Tokyo, and have served as jury members of the iF Design Award 2015 (Germany).
