Serena Confalonieri (born 1980) is an independent designer and art director based in Milan. She works across product, graphic and textile design, collaborating with Italian and international companies. Her work sits at the intersection of product and graphic design and is consistently characterised by in-depth research into surfaces.

After completing a Master’s degree in Interior Design, she began collaborating with various studios in Barcelona, Berlin and Milan, while also working as an assistant with the Interior Design Department at the Politecnico di Milano. In 2013, she made her debut at Milan Design Week with the Flamingo rug, produced by Nodus.

Over the years, she has been selected for design residencies and workshops in Italy and abroad (including New York, Mexico and Portugal). Her work has been published in leading international newspapers and design magazines such as The New York Times, Corriere della Sera, Il Sole 24 Ore, Wallpaper, Interni, Ottagono, L’Officiel and Elle Décor. She has received several awards, including Honourable Mentions at the Young&Design Awards 2014 and the German Design Awards 2016, and her work has been exhibited in prominent design venues such as La Triennale di Milano and the Rossana Orlandi Gallery.
