(Architect)
Born in Rimini in 1959, Roberto Semprini studied architecture in Florence. In 1987, he joined the Bolidist movement, which expresses design through a symbolic language. In Milan, he worked as a freelance journalist for several design magazines.
In 1989, he designed the “Tatlin” sofa for Edra, which received the prestigious TOP TEN Award in Düsseldorf. In 1994, the “Manta” coffee table for Fiam was among the winners of the Young & Design Award. His products are part of the permanent collections of the Montreal Museum of Decorative Arts (Canada) and the New Museum of Design in London.
In 2000, he opened “RM 12 art & design” in Rimini, both an art gallery and design studio. He creates high-impact scenographies and has long collaborated with leading design companies. He gives seminars at various national and international universities and is a tenured professor at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milan), as well as a lecturer for Chiara Fama’s Outdoor Design course at the Politecnico di Milano.
