Philippe Nigro

(Designer)

Born in Nice, he studied applied arts and product design in Lyon and Paris. His professional activity is divided between Italy and France. From 1999 to 2012, he collaborated with Michele De Lucchi, developing product design, furniture and interior projects for companies such as Olivetti, Siemens, Poltrona Frau, Artemide, Danese and Poste Italiane.

Since 2005, some of his experimental projects have been supported by the French VIA (Valorisation de l’Innovation dans l’Ameublement) programme. Products developed in this context—such as the Confluences sofa and the Twin-Chairs for Ligne Roset—have entered the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

He has also designed creations for De Castelli, Felicerossi, Pibamarmi, Serralunga and Skitsch. Between 2012 and 2014, he designed the Nuage lamp for Foscarini, the Pilotis sofa for De Padova, the Clochette and Céleste lamps for Baccarat, and, for Hermès, the Les Nécessaires d’Hermès collection.
