Patricia Urquiola

Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain, and lives and works in Milan. She studied Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and at the Politecnico di Milano, where she graduated in 1989 under Achille Castiglioni. She later worked as assistant lecturer to Achille Castiglioni, collaborated with Vico Magistretti, and served as Head of Design at Lissoni Associati.

In 2001, she founded her own studio, working across product design, interiors, and architecture. She has designed products for many of the leading Italian and international companies, including B&B Italia, Boffi Cucine, Budri, Moroso, Molteni, Mutina, Kartell, Agape, Rosenthal, Baccarat, Kettal, Kvadrat, Andreu World, and Hansgrohe.

She has received numerous international awards, and several of her products are exhibited in major art and design museums worldwide. She was an Ambassador of Expo Milano 2015.
