(Architect)
Lorenzo Palmeri, an architect, works across design, architecture, art direction, teaching, musical composition and music production. Among his mentors were Bruno Munari and Isao Hosoe, with whom he collaborated for several years. His design work spans a wide range of outputs, including homes, guitars, lamps, vases, tables—and even chocolates.
As an art director, he has overseen various corporate projects and brand journeys, including Invicta (2007), DesignRe, Lefel (Feltrinelli publisher’s design project, 2009–2010), Arthemagroup (2010), and Stone Italiana (since 2012). His main clients include Fumagalli Componenti, Valenti Luce, Arthemagroup, Korg, Noah Guitars, Garofoli, Andreoli, Guzzini, Invicta, Upgroup, Caffè River, De Vecchi, Nissan, Feltrinelli, Napapijri, Pandora Design, Lavazza, Corvasce, Danese, Ernst Knam, Jannelli&Volpi, Caimi Brevetti, DeVorm, Valcucine, Stone Italiana, Dornbracht and ECO-oh!.
He has been active in teaching since 1997, lecturing at some of the most renowned national and international design schools. In the field of music, he has composed soundtracks for theatre and installations. In 2009, he released the album Preparativi per la pioggia, featuring distinguished collaborators such as Saturnino on bass and Franco Battiato. At the end of 2014, he released his second album, Erbamatta, and his new work, La natura del parafulmine, is due for release soon.
He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and his projects have won and been shortlisted for major national and international awards. In 2017, he was appointed one of the Italian Design Ambassadors as part of Italian Design Day.
