It is an international team of architects founded by Li Hu and Huang Wenjing in New York City, with its headquarters in Beijing since 2008. OPEN believes in the innovative power of architecture to transform people and the way they live, advocating a new balance between human creations and the resources of nature.
OPEN’s innovative work has been widely recognised through recent awards, including the 2015 AIANY Design Award, a nomination for Design of the Year at the London Design Museum, and First Prize at the WA Awards for Chinese Architecture. Among OPEN’s most notable recent projects are the Gehua Youth and Cultural Center, Beijing Fangshan No. 4 High School Campus, the Tsinghua Ocean Center, the Pingshan Performing Arts Center, and Tank Shanghai.
