Giulio Iacchetti, an industrial designer since 1992, designs for numerous brands, including Abet Laminati, Alessi, Artemide, Danese, Coop, Foscarini, Magis and Moleskine. One of his defining traits is his research into and creation of new object typologies, such as Moscardino, a biodegradable multi-purpose cutlery, designed with Matteo Ragni for Pandora Design and awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 2001.
In 2009, the Triennale di Milano hosted his solo exhibition “Giulio Iacchetti. Oggetti disobbedienti”. He is also the creator of several exhibitions, including “Cruciale”, “Razione K, il pasto del soldato in azione” and “Mollette da bucato”.
Always attentive to the evolving relationship between craftsmanship and design, in November 2012 he launched Internoitaliano, a “distributed factory” made up of numerous artisan workshops with which he designs and produces furniture and accessories inspired by Italian craftsmanship and ways of living. In 2014, he won his second Compasso d’Oro for the Sfera manhole cover series, designed with Matteo Ragni for Montini.
